RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES
Measured Building Surveys in South Hampshire
Accurate site measurements and existing floor plans, elevations and sections to form the basis of your architectural project.
A Full Measure-Up of Your Property
We book you in for a site visit to record the existing building and understand what you want to achieve. While we are there, we take external photographs and discuss your brief.
Our measure-up covers:
- The Plot and External Perimeter of the property.
- Drainage: the position and depth of sewers, including back inlet gullies, soil vent pipes (SVPs) and WC waste runs, where these can be accessed and identified.
- All Floors: the ground floor, first floor, any second floor and the loft.
- Construction: the roof structure, floor joist directions where these can be established, and which walls are solid or load-bearing.
We use this information to prepare the existing floor plans, layout plans, sections and elevations before developing your proposed design.
Getting Ready for the Visit
We visit you at your property. You do not need to prepare drawings or have a finished design before we arrive. A brief description of what you would like to achieve is enough to start the discussion. Any old plans or approval documents you already hold can be useful background.
Arrange access to the rooms, outside areas and drainage inspection points where possible. Let us know about restricted areas or difficult loft access beforehand.
What Happens After the Measure-Up?
We draw your ideas and any alternatives we think are worth considering, then return with printed idea sheets to discuss them with you. See our full design and submission process.
